Senior User Interface Designer
Seed Media Group is seeking a superlative user interface designer who can lead interaction design for a new online venture. You have an enormous appetite and aptitude for generating innovative interface concepts and the patience and persistence to work closely with management and customers to refine your ideas into optimal solutions. You are hands on and are also comfortable managing a couple of internal/external resources to execute with scale.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing new online interfaces (visual comps, storyboards, HTML/CSS templates) based on written and illustrated requirements (specifications and wireframes), customer and stakeholder input
- Applying existing visual standards into new functional areas
- Working together with business analysts and visual designers to design intuitive, scalable interfaces from basic navigation and forms through fluid, highly interactive interfaces based on Flash and Ajax
- Leading the visual aspects of Quality Assurance on newly developed software, ensuring together with more junior design staff that the software realizes the high visual standards of the design
- Estimating and managing delivery of significant projects using internal and external design resources
Requirements:
- 5+ years prior experience working for an interactive agency or corporate online design team
- Experience designing complex, highly interactive web sites / software applications
- Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS
Desired Skills:
- Strong HTML, CSS, and Javascript skills with an active awareness/knowledge of best practices for flexible, maintainable design
- Strong background in creating highly usable interfaces through user-centered design practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including articulating creative concepts and the rationale behind them to stakeholders and teammates
- Knowledge of Flash design and at least basic Flash development skills preferred
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to balance demands/needs of multiple conflicting groups (end users, management, etc.)
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
