Team Lead – JavaScript/AJAX User Interface Development

Are you a JavaScript ninja? Are you interested in pushing the limits on browser-based UI implementation? Are you experienced in leading other ninjas to achieve greatness? If so, we have a job for you!

Seed Media Group, a world-renowned science media company is opening an office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to base a team of developers focused on creating a breakthrough browser-based user interface application framework for a new technology venture. This team will use all of the latest web techniques, technologies and toolkits to build this new framework from the ground up. We are innovative, motivated, well funded, and have been given the mission of nothing less than changing the world. Seriously.

This new team will play a critical role in delivering the front-end tools to expose the infrastructure technologies and applications being developed by our other globally dispersed development teams. In addition, the team will develop applications using this framework that will be used as examples of capabilities and techniques to help other development teams learn and extend the system.

Responsibilities:

As team lead you will be responsible for assuring that the code that is developed is considered to be a work of art, both in its structure and its capabilities. You will lead the team by example, define coding standards, implement best practices, and assure that all members of the team are working efficiently and effectively to meet our business and technology objectives.

Qualifications:

• Years of experience working in a team-based development environment.
• Years of experience designing complex, highly interactive web sites and software applications.
• Years of experience developing cross-browser compatible JavaScript.
• Years of experience developing efficient and maintainable HTML/CSS.
• Extreme, demonstrable expertise using AJAX/DHTML.
• Expertise using frameworks like Prototype, Scriptaculous, MooTools, JQuery, YUI, etc.
• Experience working in a LAMP environment.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
